Exceptional Cask Selection Release XXII

The Exceptional Cask Selections represent the unique, limited and rare offerings of Foursquare Rum Distillery. Hand selected, only released at peak quality, and bottled with no colouring, no sugar, no filtration and no additived, each release is one of a kind, showcasing the truly unique approach to Rum blending and maturation at Foursquare.

This 22nd release is a blend of two 14-Year-Old double matured Single Blended Rums, utilizing both artisanal double-retort pot and traditional twin column Coffet stills. 

One rum was matured for 5 years in Ex-Bourbon barrels, then transferred to ex-Cognac casks for an additional 9 years. The other was matured in 12 years in ex-Bourbon, then transferred to to ex-Camus Cognac casks for an additional 2 years.

Tasting Notes from the Distillery: 

Initial Impressions:  Rich and layered while still showcasing bright fruit and floral notes

Aroma:  Toasted banana chip, caramelized pineapple, and bright tree fruits layer on top of pipe tobacco, cigar wrapper, and leather

Palate:  Rich and full with bright acidity. Chocolate covered figs, blackberry pie, and rich caramel give way to gorgeous acidity - fresh peaches evolving into grilled peach - with a distinctive and familiar "Foursquare" tropical undertone of pineapple and toasted coconut
