Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 50%

This 8-Year-Old heavily peated whisky from the Bruichladdich Distillery is a direct embodiment of everything an Islay whisky can and should be. Conceived, distilled, matured and bottled on the island, with barley grown by seven of farms on the island itself.

For this expression, Islay Barley harvested in 2013 has been peated to 40PPM, distilled into beautiful Port Charlotte whisky and then matured in ex-American and ex-wine casks hailing from the Pessac-Leognan region of France. 

With redberry fruits, toasted oak notes and hints of coffee and chocolate, it offers a dramatic, smoky finish. A true homage to Islay.
